Home repair grants and loans for individuals, families and the elderly living in rural areas.
There are several housing repair grant and loan programs to assist individuals and families living in rural communities
Low income families can receive a 1% interest rate loan to improve or repair their rural home from the Rural Development and Housing Agency (part of the USDA). There is also a USDA Rural Housing Preservation Grant available to qualifying individuals, agencies and organizations.
Homeowners 62 and older can also receive free grants to improve their home and maintain it.
