Thid broad set of programs goal is to meet the home improvement needs of low income families.

Home Community Programs are part of the largest federal block grant in the United States. HOME provides over $2 billion dollars annually to state and local governments to cover a vast array of housing needs for low income families.

This vast grants program includes many types of home improvement, repairs or reconstruction of owner occupied homes, using various financial means such as grants, deferred-payments loans, no-interest loans and interest loans.

As this program can be rather complex we recommend you read Hud’s HOME Rehabilitation Program Guide or better yet contact your Local HOME Representative for more detailed information.
